Singalila National Park

Singalila National Park is one of the most popular trekking zones in West Bengal. Tourists attracted to this area for the clear views of the mountain ranges including the mighty Khanchendzonga, the third highest peak in this world, which can be viewed clearly on fine days from Sandakphu and Phalut. Tourists can never forget the breathtaking beauty of sunrise and sunsets. The trek to Sandakphu and Phalut in itself is a remarkable experience in one life Moreover you get the opportunity to view the glimpse of the rare red panda that surely gives you mesmerizing experience.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1Arrive New Delhi (by flight)

On arrival at the New Delhi airport, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel and assist you in check in at the hotel. He will also hand over and explain all travel-related documents. Overnight stay is at the hotel.

Day 2New Delhi – Guwahati – Kaziranga (by flight + 250 kms/5 hrs drive)

Early morning get transfer to the airport to board a flight to Guwahati at 0710 hrs to reach Guwahati at 0935 hrs. Meet our assistance on arrival at the Guwahati airport and drive to Kaziranga National Park 250kms / 5hrs drive. On arrival check into the resort. Lunch at resort and afternoon jeep safari to the national park.

Kaziranga National Park lies partly in Golaghat District and partly in Nagaon District of Assam. It is the oldest park in Assam and covers an area of 430 sq km along the river Brahmaputra in the North and the Karbi Ang long hills in the South. The National Highway 37 passes through the parking area and tea estates, hemmed by table-top tea bushes. The Park is a world heritage site and was declared a National Park in 1974. The landscape is of sheer forest, tall elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes, and shallow pools.

Kaziranga National Park a world heritage site is famous for the Great Indian one-horned rhinoceros, the landscape of Kaziranga is of sheer forest, tall elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes & shallow pools. It has been declared a National Park in 1974. Dinner and overnight at Resort.

Day 3Kaziranga

Morning and afternoon jeep safaris to the national park. Breakfast and lunch at the Resort.

Kaziranga National Park is one of the last areas in eastern India undisturbed by a human presence. It is inhabited by the world’s largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tiger, elephant, water buffalo, gaur, leopard cat, otter, and monitor lizard. Some of the birds that can be commonly sighted are the flamingo, crane, grey-headed fishing eagle, whistling teal, crested serpent eagle, open-billed stork, swamp partridge, osprey, cormorant, heron, and marsh harrier. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.

Day 4Kaziranga

Morning and afternoon jeep safaris to the national park. Breakfast and lunch at the Resort.Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.

Day 5Kaziranga – Guwahati – Bagdogra – Singalila (Flight + by surface 100 Kms/4 hour)

Early breakfast, and transfer to the airport in the morning to board a flight at 1035 hours to arrive at Bagdogra at 1140 hrs. Met at the airport and drive to Singalila National Park gate (Manebhanjan) takes around 4 hrs. Then take safari Land Rovers to Habre’s Nest which takes another 2-2.30 hrs through the National Park. On arrival check into the Habre’s Nest. Dinner and overnight stay at the Habre’s Nest.

Day 6 Singalila National Park

The morning will start wildlife activity around Habre’s Nest after breakfast. Go for birding with an in-house bird studio setup. Later proceed in search of Red Panda for the whole day with necessary breaks. Foods will be served at homestay or on fields depending on the activities.

The jungles in the east are treasure houses to the most precious and strange flora and fauna. One such treasure in the east is Singalila National Park in West Bengal. Established in 1986, the park is one of the few places on earth where you will come across Red Panda.

The incandescent view of Kanchenjunga Massif adorns the clear blue skies above the park. Each and every turn unfurls a pleasant surprise of wilderness and scenic beauty. Located in the Eastern Himalayas, you get the virgin views of the mountains spanning from Nepal to Bhutan.

You may get tired of clicking photos from your DSLR, but the park won’t stop bombarding you with beautiful vistas and wonders of nature. It is a heaven for wildlife photographers, nature lovers, and adventure enthusiasts. Overnight stay at Habre’s Nest.

Day 7 - 9Singalila National Park

Follow the same schedule as the previous day. After breakfast goes for birding and in search of rare and exotic Red Panda.

Red Panda & their habitat is hugely threatened in this world and pushing them further towards extinction; we all need to save them for a better world. Habre’s Nest is dedicated to this cause and shares 20% of its profit for the Red Panda & its habitat conservation.

This is home to all of us, around 15 people who made the Homestay themselves; monitor the surrounding Red Panda habitat for Red Panda conservation and research. Tinchule-Singalila is a Birding Paradise. More than 300 species of birds found here. It has a huge list of exotic birds like- Blood Pheasant, Satyr Tragopan, Kalij Pheasant, Brown and Fulvous Parrotbills, Rufous-vented Tit, and Old World babblers like the Fire-tailed Myzornis and the Golden-breasted Fulvetta, Rosefinchs, bull finches, Wran Babblers, Laughingthrushes, Nuthatchs, Treecreepers, Yahunas, Minivets, Partriges and many more. One of the best places to see sunrise and sunsets, Sandakhphu top is the highest peak in West Bengal and offers the best view of Kangchenjunga also known as “Sleeping Buddha” or Sleeping Shiva”.

Day 10Singalila – Bagdogra – New Delhi (Flight + by surface 100 Kms/4 hour)

After Breakfast check out from The Habre’s Nest drive to Bagdogra by 2 pm. After reaching the airport board a flight to New Delhi at 1550 hours. Arrive in New Delhi at 1805 hrs. and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at New Delhi hotel.

Day 11New Delhi Fly back home

After breakfast leave for the international airport to board a flight back home or onward destinations.
