Arrival – Makassar – City Tour – Makassar – Mamasa – Toraja – Makassar – Departure
Upon arrival at Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar, meeting services. Makassar is the capital city of South Sulawesi. We will take you on a short city tour, visiting Fort Rotterdam the old Dutch Fortress and Paotere Anchorage the Makassarese and Bugisnese boat harbor. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, we will take you for drive down to Mamasa with the scenic panorama, passing through Bugisnese villages with their typical houses. Lunch will be served at a seafood restaurant in Pare-Pare. Mamasa is a cool mountain resort, with numerous hot springs nearby. There are interesting walks among the rolling hills, rice terraces and villages. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at Hotel.
After breakfast, you will enjoy a full day excursions around Mamasa. Visiting the traditional House Rante Buda, Kampong Tawalian, Osanga Village, the tombs from TedongTedong Minanga and the weaving center of Rantesapu Bala. Lunch in local restaurant. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight in hotel.
After breakfast, the trip will be continued to Toraja. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant in Polewali. In the afternoon, stop on the Puncak Lakawan to enjoy the spectacular view. Late afternoon arrive in Rantepao. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at the Hotel.
After breakfast, a full day exploring Toraja. First you will visit Lemo to see rows of Tau Tau statues and the hanging graves. Onwards to Suaya to discover the secrets of baby trees and then proceed to Londa to see ancient tombs in which the deceased was not buried, but placed among the rocks. At Kete Kesu one of the oldest Toraja’s villages we can see Tongkonan (the traditional ancestral house, or rumah adat of the Torajan people), and also the old traditional rice barns with colorful woodcarving. Lunch in Rantepao. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at Hotel.
After breakfast, we will bring you out for a full day trip to Batutumonga, enjoying superb views of Rantepao and the surrounding valleys. You will enjoy a walk along the rice fields where you can see the daily life of Torajan people. Lunch in local restaurant in Rantepao. After lunch, visiting Pallawa, Sa’dan, known as the weaving center of Rantepao. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at Hotel.
After breakfast, drive back to Makassar. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Pare-Pare. Then transfer directly to Hasanuddin International Airport Makassar to catch the flight to your next destination.
